Obituary of Catherine E Kocher

Catherine E. "Til" Kocher, 84, of Pine Grove Mills, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Juniper Village At Brookline. Born May 9, 1933, in Baileyville, she was the daughter of the late Albert L. and Helen R. Zerby Foster. On July 10, 1953 she married Robert E. Kocher at the Upper Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church, who preceded her in death on January 10, 1999. She is survived by three children, Robert A. Kocher and his wife, June, Rhonda L. Boonie and her husband, Michael and Michael W. Kocher, all of Pennsylvania Furnace; five siblings, Richard "Dick": Foster of Tuscon, AZ, Albert "Ham" Foster and his wife, Susie, of State College, Alberta "Suz" Yeager and her husband, Grady, of Cape Coral, FL, Ray "Snook" Foster and his wife, Susan, of Pine Grove Mills, and Carol "Trink" Keller and her husband, Dave, of Pennsylvania Furnace; one brother-in-law, Ted Musser of Lititz; eight grandchildren, Eric, David, Tara, Mandy, Ryan, Matt, Justin and Kayte; four great-grandchildren, Riley, Jace, Noah and Luke. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth "Sis" Musser and a granddaughter, Elizabeth "Liza" Kocher. Til was a 1951 graduate of State College Area High School. She retired in 1995 after 30 years as a Secretary for the State College Area High School. Prior to that she was employed at the Rea and Derrick Drug Store, State College. Til was a member of the Pine Grove Mills Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed softball, going to the beach, Disney trips, Pop's Mexi-Hots, spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece's and nephew's, and Sunday excursions. She loved her animals, especially her dog Hannah. Visitation will be from 1 until 4 p.m., on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., on Monday, May 22, 2017, at the funeral home, with the Reverend Carl Campball officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Mills Cemetery.
