Obituary of Anita Fogel

Anita T. Fogel, 91, of State College, died Monday, August 14, 2017 at Juniper Village at Brookline. Born September 1, 1925 in Shenandoah, she was the daughter of the late Abe and Mary Peril Marateck. She married Harold F. Fogel, on December 26, 1948 in Wilkes Bare, he preceded her in death. She is survived by two children, Barton H Fogel and his wife Teresa of Bethel CT; Linda Pesce and her husband John of Germantown, MD, and also two grandchildren, Heather Pesce, and David Pesce. She was preceded in death by her son Scott Fogel, and brother Sanford Marateck also Anita was a graduate of Kulpmont High School class of 1942. She helped her mother in her dress shop, and traveled to New York City to buy fashions. She was an avid bridge player, and teacher of bridge. She was the owner of a tax preparation for many years. She had a passion for travel in her later years and had seen most of the world. She was an active member in the Congregation Brit Shalom and served on the board. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday August 15, 2017 at 11:00 am at Centre County Memorial Park 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Congregation Brit Shalom, 620 E Hamilton Ave, State College, PA 16801 or Centre County PAWS, 1401 Trout Road, State College, PA 16801.
