Obituary of B. Charles Levine

B. Charles Levine, 93, of State College, died peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017, at his son's home, surrounded by family, in Boca Raton, FL.

Born March 5, 1924, in Altoona, he was the son of the late Jacob and Ida Frank Levine. On November 20, 1949, in Altoona, he married Sylvia Small.

In addition to his beloved and devoted wife of 68 years, Sylvia Levine, Charles is survived by his two sons, Nathan Levine and his wife, Brenda, of Boca Raton, FL, and Michael Levine and his wife, Donna, of Pittsburgh; eight cherished grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and adored nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Nathan Levine, Edgar Levine, and Morris Levine.

Charles graduated from Altoona High School in 1942. He received his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1948. Charles also served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II Veteran.

He owned and operated Levine Brother's Men's Shop in State College for 35 years, until his retirement. Charles cherished his family immensely. He loved to create art, paint, and do woodworking. He was the longest member and eldest player in the Penn State Tennis Club. Charles was also an avid football fan and was a season ticket holder for years. He was a proud Penn State Alumni. He will be sorely missed and cherished by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Congregation Brit Shalom, 620 E Hamilton Ave, State College, PA with Rabbi David Ostrich officiating.

Burial will be in Agudath Achim Cemetery in Altoona.
