April 6 2020
It makes sense that the first Monday’s Moments blog post in April 2020 came out on a Thursday not a Monday. It makes sense because very little at this time is happening as it usually does. Change abounds right now with the global coronavirus pandemic. My wish for you and your loved ones is health and safety. My encouragement is to be gentle with yourself.
Our theme this month is “Inside-Out Healing.” You might say that our current “shelter-in-place” living makes you feel inside-out. On the outside, very little is the way it was one month ago and loss is rampant – loss of freedoms, jobs, income, security, health and even life. Some level of grief and fear might be a frequent companion for you. All of this can make you feel inside-out. But on the inside, deep within, I believe there are things that never change and can help you heal.
Katie Rubinstein with A Network for Grateful Living once said, “We crave that deep place within that cannot be touched by the ups and downs of life, but rather just IS – connected and whole.” And it is by listening to and taking care of that deep place that we experience inside-out healing. I’ll talk more about these ideas in the weeks ahead.
