Born on December 16, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Walter Henry and Mildred Anda Lutz. On June 30, 1956, he married Dorothy Cartland, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Diana L. Pinkham and her husband, Douglas, of Herndon, VA, Kathryn L. Bosket and her husband, Curtis, of Eureka, MT and Daniel R. Lutz and his wife, Theresa, of Orrville, OH; five grandchildren, David and Kyle Pinkham, Meagan Ankney, Kenneth and Reagan Lutz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters. Kenneth was a 1947 graduate of Taft High School, Chicago. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lawrence College in Appleton, WI in 1951, after which he served in the U.S. Army Counter-Intelligence Corps during the Korean Conflict in Chicago and Japan. Following military service his employment history was in sales and technical services beginning with Dow Chemical in Midland, MI, and followed by 12 years with Philip A. Hunt Chemical Corp., Palisades Park, NJ. Hired by Chemcut in 1975 as national sales manager, his remaining working years were in State College. After a brief stint at Merrill Lynch, he established his own sales representative business, Automated Processes, Inc., from which he retired in 1993. Kenneth enjoyed water sports – fishing and sailing – most recently at his summer home on Seneca Lake, NY. His passion for woodworking and for tools of all sorts made him the source of borrowed equipment in his neighborhoods. He was famous for creating squirrel-proof bird feeding stations. His early love for classical music continued throughout his life. Memorial services will be at 2 pm, Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the University Baptist and Brethren Church, 411 L.
