Obituary of Leonard E. Dudis
Leonard “Lenny” E. Dudis, 68, of State College, died on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte.
Born July 26, 1946 in Shenandoah, he was the son of Leonard A. and Josephine Maksimick Dudis. Lenny married Carole Steslow, on April 25, 1970 at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Shenandoah, who survives at home.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, Lenny is survived by three children, Leonard J. Dudis and wife, Karen, of Kissimmee, FL, Michael R. Dudis and wife, Sasha, of Alexandria, VA, and Holly A. Bowman and husband, Joseph, of State College; four grandchildren, Lindsay Dudis, Charlotte Dudis, Maxwell Bowman, and Leo Bowman; and sister, Diana Green of Meriden, CT. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Josephine Dudis, and brother-in-law, Anthony Green in 2007.
Lenny was a 1964 graduate of Shenandoah Catholic High School. He studied Electronic Technology at Williamsport Community College, graduating in 1966
He was employed by IBM for 25 years until his retirement in 1993. Throughout his career there, Lenny worked as a systems engineer and customer program engineer.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, State College, and the Knights of Columbus, State College.
Lenny was an avid Penn State University football fan.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Pkwy, State College, with the Reverend Val Bradley officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Pennsylvania Keystone Chapter, 1501 Reedsdale Street, Suite 105, Pittsburgh, PA 15233, or nationalmssociety.org to benefit the Leonard E. Dudis Memorial Fund.
