Dear Kitsy and Family Members,
Our deepest sympathy to all of your beautiful family during this saddened time.
Dr. Carr was one of the nicest, caring Dr.'s OSU ever produced. He was such a gentleman and reminded me a lot of my own Father.
He and Patty were a very special couple, whom always looked impeccable and were so kind to their dear family and friends. We'd seem them at church, always hand in hand, so touching. They are together now and that makes us happy.
Heaven must be a beautiful place, for it has so many special people up above. Treasure all of the special memories you shared as a family and they will sustain all of you. Dr Carr will always be your special "Guardian Angel", sitting on your shoulder, watching everything you are doing, but when you are doing something you don 't want him to see, He said He'll close his eyes, because that is how much He loved all of you.
God Bless, Our lives were enriched by his presence.
Love and Prayers,
Linda and Art Signore

I remember Dick and Patty very well. Our friendship goes w-a-a-y back to the days we were neighbors on Dorris Avenue in Clintonville in our first apartments when Dick and Jim Barnes (my first husband) were fellow medical students. Our small children, Jennifer and Joel played with Bret and Kitsy on the sidewalks and in the backyard kiddie swim pools! I have so many fond memories of two of my favorite friends from college, medical school and years beyond. I will always treasure them in my memory bank.

To the Carr family;
I would like to express my sadness in the passing of your father. I became a patient of his when I was in fifth grade, and had a ringworm on my wrist. I was 11 years old then, and Dr. Carr treated me for my various maladies up until my mid forties, I believe. Over those some thirty years, your father froze, cut, cauterized, and wrote prescriptions for a variety of salves and lotions. I always knew I'd be better soon after an office visit with him. My older brother Fred was also a patient for a time. That must have been soon after your dad's practice opened, as Fred is 66 now
I will always remember waiting in an exam room, and hearing Dr. Carr going door to door as he met with other patients. If I was lucky, I'd get that room in the far back that had all his magazines on the shelf. Either dermatology magazines or magazines about the American west. During one of the last visits to see him, he called me Mr. Berkemer as he always did. I asked him, "Dr. Carr, you've known me for 30 years now, why don't you just call me Joe". We had a nice laugh. I had asked him if he owned the building there at Zollinger and Tremont yet, and he remarked that he didn't, but probably could have a couple times over if he added up all the rent he paid.
Thanks for letting me ramble on. I'm here on my couch watching "The Quiet Man" with John Wayne, and was feeling melancholy.
I'll miss your dad.....thanks, Joe Berkemer

Dick was a great man, physician, dermatologist, teacher, and mentor to a young fresh assistant professor in a fledgling dermatology division at OSU. His wise and kindly advice will always be cherished.
