Obituary of Monna Faith Ross Hoover
Monna Faith Ross Hoover, 81, of State College, died Friday, August 28, 2015, at home.
Born December 3, 1933 in Warriors Mark, she was the daughter of the late Emory J. and Eva Ruth Burns Ross. She married Gilbert Robert Hoover, on November 20, 1955, who preceded her in death on September 2007.
Monna is survived by two sisters, Hope Ross of Warriors Mark and Florence Neff of Warriors Mark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby K. Fogle on May 28, 2015.
Monna was a 1951 graduate of Warriors Mark-Franklin High School.
She began working at The Pennsylvania State University in 1952, retiring after
30 years of service.
Monna was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, State College. She was also a member of The Red Hat Society and The Order of the Eastern Star.
She loved animals and enjoyed caring for them. Monna adored her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 250 E College Ave, State College. A memorial service will follow at 11:00a.m. at church with Rev. Eric Shaffer officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Centre County PAWS, 1401 Trout Rd, State College, PA 16801 or to Masonic Learning Center for Children with Dyslexia, 2766 West College Avenue, State College, PA 16801, in memory of Monna Faith Ross Hoover.
