We knew Alfred as the father of Paul and grandfather to Ben, Nick, and Hannah Traverse. Alfred also knew Kent's father, Vernon Struck, through the Harvard Alumni Club in North Dakota. In fact, this connection was one of the reasons that we first met and became longtime friends of Paul and Angie Traverse and their children. Paul contacted Kent when Kent joined a medical practice in Binghamton,NY. We knew Alfred to be a very accomplished, intelligent, and unusual person who continued to think and learn throughout his long life. Our deepest sympathy and condolences to his wife, Betty, and their four children and families.
