Obituary of Dora Kurtz

Dora Kurtz, 82, of State College, died Friday, November 13, 2015, at M. S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. Born November 30, 1932, in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Yolanda Fiorentino Grandinetti. On July 1, 1951 at Great Lakes Naval Station in Waukegan, IL, Dora married Stewart K. Kurtz, who survives. In addition to her husband of 64 years, Dora is survived by her four sons, Phillip Kurtz and his wife, Pamela, of Brookfield, CT, David Kurtz and his wife, Catherine, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Timothy Kurtz and his wife, Candace, of Venice FL, and John Kurtz of Scottsdale, AZ; four grandchildren, Nicholas Kurtz and his wife, Lizabeth, Sara Kurtz, Joseph Kurtz, and Hannah Kurtz; great-grandson, Ryder Kurtz; sister, Olga Chosensky of Easton; nephew Brandon Miller and wife Theresa of E. Norriton, PA; niece Michelle Ward and her husband, Gary, of King of Prussia, PA; great nephews Brady and Conor. Dora was preceded in death by her sister, Sylvia Miller and brother-in-law, Judd Chosensky. Dora graduated from Easton High School in 1950. She worked for several physician offices as a medical assistant throughout her career. She was a loving mother to everyone she met, and will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched. Her pure and instinctive kindness and interest opened people's hearts. She was especially devoted to all children and strongly supported St. Jude's Children's Hospital and their work with the seriously ill. Friends will be received from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m., on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. A Celebration of Life will follow at Foxdale Village Auditorium.
