To the Family,
My deepest condolences. I have been on travel and just learned today of his passing. I had the privilege of working with Dave at ARL. During that time I made several trips to Hi with him. Such a delightful person to be with. Dave was always so kind and gracious. I very much respected him not only for his great intellect but more for what a great human being he was. I am so sorry.

Dear Beth and all of the Hall Family,
We were so deeply saddened to learn of Dave's death. He was such a fine man and as we knew him, a wonderful father, writer and sweet friend for a time, when two newcomers to State College needed to connect. Both of you, Beth and Dave, were lovely to us and to everyone in our very special and quirky little writing cohort, encouraging us to write, write write!
We will miss Dave's sweet face, his kind heart and his lovely sense of whimsy.
Our love to you,
Marylouise and Ron Markle

Dave and I served together in the USAF on the SAIL and A.S.D.C projects, and later part of the Delphi group: "Oracular Visitations by Appointment or Chance". After I joined MIT/LL supporting the G.E.O.D.S.S. system prototype, I convinced Dave to interview for a position at the Lab. He was just completing his PhD in Astronomy, and new space track intimately - the perfect candidate. He got a job, but, unfortunately not on my project. He, M.J. and their elder daughter stayed with us in Lowell until they found their apartment in Concord.
I was shocked to hear of his passing today. We had been in touch over the past year or so, and it was great to hear how well he had done, and what he had achieved in the decades since we worked together. We admired and liked him greatly. I tell "Dave Hall" stories often, to this day, and will continue to do so. He was a remarkable talent, a remarkable person, and a great colleague. We shall miss him.

Dave was a very kind and generous man. He took the time to show my 10 year old son and I around the IST building a few years ago. Dave will not be forgotten especially his genuine smile.

Dave's mom and my mom were sisters. Dave and I were blessed with an extended family that knew the importance of "family time". I remember when we were young, Dave shared his knowledge of the stars with me as we viewed the night sky through his homemade telescope. Dave never forgot his rural Iowa roots. The last time Dave was back to visit us, I remember thinking what a humble, kind, brilliant man he was. Our thoughts are with you.

Dave was a good person and friend to me. I was fortunate enough to have worked with him at HRB in the "good old days". We both ended up at Penn State, and while I didn't work directly with him at PSU, I did have several occasions to cross paths.
Dave was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. He almost always had a smile on his face, and he always had good things to say.
I was so sorry to hear of his passing. I wish we had more time to spend together.
Rest in peace, Dave.

You are one of a very select few that maintained with direction. That allowed me to flourish and provide for for my family. You are the second this year to depart who were an integral part of the Penn State family and will be missed greatly.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Thank you Dave. I can only hope to give back what you have done for us all.

My condolences to Beth and the rest of the Hall family on their loss. Dave was a wonderful and kind person. Regardless of what was going on in his day, I knew that if I really needed to talk to him that he would make the time to talk to me. When we had our twins, he was so excited for us and told me all about his twin experiences. I will miss him. Rest in Peace, Dave. You've touched a great many people with your kindness and humanity.

While I only recently got to know Dr. Hall, he had a large impact on my studies and my life. From pretty much the first day we met, about a year ago, he insisted I call him Dave. Not because we were instant friends, although I like to think we became more than student - professor. But because it was not his character to lord his title over others on the same path. This made me want to use his honorific title even more. His guidance and mentoring as well as his ever-ready smile will be missed. The world is less without him in it.

My thoughts are with you and the family and how death robs us of our loved ones. Jehovah God has promised to remove death, sickness, and pain from the earth and reunite us with our loved one on a cleansed earth in the future. (Revelation 21:4; John 5:28,29; John 17:3; Psalms 83:18)
In the meantime you can be sure that God understands how you feel now! The Bible assures us:
"He is healing the brokenhearted ones,
And is binding up there painful spots." Psalms 147:3
