To Libby and the Klein Family, I have just found out about Mile's passing. Libby you know that I visited with Mike everytime I came to state college. The visits that he and John P. and Stu K. made to the Behrend Campus were always very enjoyable and very educational for me. The time we spent together at the Elks State Conventions were also good times. I will truly miss visiting him at the Alpha when I come into town. We all were lucky to know him.

To the Klein family
It was an honor and privilage to have served in the Alphas with Mr. Klein. Weither it was his singing in the headsets driving the truck to a call or his always good spirits and quite sense of humor to lighten up the room he could always be counted on to make your day! He will truely be missed by all who had the honor to know and serve with him. He was truely one of this worlds great men, fathers and rolemodels.

To The Klein Family, Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I met Mike some 29 years ago as "newbie" at the Penn State Worthington Scranton here in Dunmore. He had a warm spot for the campuses here in the Northeast, and was extremely helpful to me and the campus as we continued to improve the safety of our campus. He loved to talk about his experiences, especially with the fire department and he helped me in making those connections here locally. He was always willing to help when and where he could. He was someone I could count on when questions came up. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Dear Klein Family. You have my deepest sympathy on Mike's passing. I first met Mike circa 1990 at PSU Berks on my first Factory Mutual inspection as a young engineer working for the Office of Physical Plant. We spent two days inspecting sprinkler systems and pressure vessels in every nook and cranny of every building on that campus. That evening Mike introduced me to my first ever martini. I didn't like it, but it was great to sit around during the evening meal and hear the stories of past inspections and things that happened on campuses across the University. I learned so much from Mike during those years. He was always quick to answer my questions and though I was not a close personal friend, I knew he genuinely cared about how things were going for me at PSU. He was a great guy to work with. He was one of the old guard at PSU. People who really cared about the University and what it stood for. I miss those people.

I am saddened to know of Mike's passing. To those of us in the risk management community, paricularly in higher education, Mike was a mentor for many years while he worked at Penn State. We know Penn State is a safer place for faculty, students and staff due to Mike's efforts in risk management. No one could have been more diligent, especially in promoting fire safety. And yet, with all that attention to the serious things in life, we had many great times together, notably at University Risk Management and Insurance Association conferences with Mike and Libby. My heartfelt condolences, Libby, to you and your family. Thanks for sharing MIke with us for so many years.
