Obituary of E. Lee Ghaner
E. Lee Ghaner, 81, of State College, died Sunday, January 10, 2016, at Centre Crest, Bellefonte.
Born September 4, 1934, in Stormstown, he was the son of the late Floyd W. and Edith R. Hicks Ghaner. On December 19, 1955 in Stormstown, Lee married Bonnie Allen, who survives at home.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Lee is survived by his daughter, Jo Ann Witherite and her husband, Tim, of Houtzdale; son, Ron L. Ghaner and his wife, Diane, of Pequea; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Hummel and her husband, Paul, Tim Witherite and his companion, Karri, Paul Witherite, Mark Witherite and his wife, Cassandra, and Sara Hutchinson and husband, Josh; and nine great-grandchildren.
He predeceased in death by his son, Ricky Ghaner on February 2, 1957.
Lee served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed with House Wrights as a carpenter.
He enjoyed reading western books, hunting, fishing and going to church.
A visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.
The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, at the funeral home with Rev. Chester Marshall officiating.
Burial will be in Grays Cemetery, Stormstown.
