Obituary of Sr. Loesch

William George Loesch, Sr., 79, of State College, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the home of his daughter. Born at home on Nov. 20, 1931, he was a son of the late Andrew and Marian Loesch. On June 14, 1952, he married Sarah Jane Emel, who died January 29, 2010. He is survived by two children, Marian K. Rieg and her husband Edward J., of Clearfield, and Keith B. Loesch and his wife, Donna M., of Howard; five grandchildren, Carol J. Anderson, Kyle, Curtis, Christopher Brian, and David Michael Loesch; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Loesch, of Elizabethville. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son, William George Loesch, Jr. He was a 1950 graduate of State College High School. He was a machinist with Penn State's Mechanical Engineering Building for 45 years, retiring in 1997. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. His funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Chad Oberholtzer officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
