My deepest sympathy is with your family after hearing about Don's passing. I was a student of his from 1973-77 and participated in a special seminar he had in 1976 with Ray Masters on using one of the first HP portable "computers". That class started me on the road to finding ways to integrate digital technology into the LA profession.
Don was a wonderful instructor and did a great job of teaching site engineering - a class I have taught for the past 36 years - always drawing upon Don's clear, concise approach to explaining the material. Don was always such a warm, open and caring person. Know that he is greatly missed by a large number of former students on whom he had an immense impact.

To the family, we are truly sorry for your loss. My family and I would like to extend our condolences and please share a Scripture for your comfort. "And he will wipe out every tear from (your) eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. " -Revelation 21:4

My sincere sympathies to the family of Donald Leslie. Professor Leslie was one of my favorite teachers at Penn State in my major of Landscape Architecture. He had a way of making grading and construction interesting and fun. I always enjoyed talking with Professor Leslie and respected his matter of fact way of teaching construction concepts. I most recently had the chance to catch up a little with him as he and his wife attended the visitation for my beloved "Aunt Margie" Fleming after her passing in February of 2014. He was a great individual and one that will be greatly missed, but always remembered.
God bless!

Dear Linda,
Alice and I were deeply saddened to learn of Don's passing. He was a fine, gentle man and a good friend. I knew him for years as a part of the HUB Lunch Bunch where his quiet good humor always made the day a little brighter. As a member of our monthly discussion club, Don could always be counted on for a thoughtful contribution, and we delighted in his profound familiarity with the arcane world of fountain pens, a hobby as quietly elegant as was Don himself.
We will truly miss him.
With our sincere condolences,
Barton and Alice Browning
P.S. We will be out of town for the next few days and will miss the funeral, but our thoughts will be with you.

Don was one of my favorite professors way back at PSU between 1979-1983 and was a true credit to his profession and the University. He can never be replaced. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
