Obituary of Eugenie A. Harlow
Eugenie A. "Jean" Harlow, 88, formerly of State College, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg.
Born October 24, 1927, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Reed and Marjorie Hannon Donnelly. On June 2, 1951, she married John R. "Jack" Harlow, who preceded her in death on October 9, 2011.
She is survived by four children, Colleen A. Harlow of Plainsboro, NJ, John R. Harlow Jr. of Centre Hall, Thomas R. Harlow and his wife Diane of Elysburg and Matthew R. Harlow and his wife Bernadeen of Port Matilda; one brother, Reed Donnelly of Denver, CO and one sister, Marjorie Andrews of Altoona; Seven grandchildren, Daniel, Lisa, Jessica, Jonathan, Kathryn, Colin and Keri and two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Olivia.
Jean was a 1945 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School.
She was an Administrative Assistant at Pattee Library, Penn State University.
Jean was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul, the Special Olympics and the Hope Lodge in Hershey.
She was an avid bird watcher and outdoor enthusiast.
Friends will be received from 2 until 4p.m., on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, June 6, 2016, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, with the Reverend Michael Wolfe officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
Memorial contributions may be made to Garvey Manor, 1037 S. Logan Blvd., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
