Obituary of John Charles DeVine
John Charles DeVine, 92, of State College, died Monday, June 13, 2016, at Juniper Village at Brookline, State College.
Born September 9, 1923, in York, he was the son of the late Daniel Clifford and Helen Edith Hochwalt DeVine.
He is survived by his friend, Patricia A. Ishler of State College; a brother, James Devine of Lansdale; five nieces, Georgia Becker and Helen Smith, both of New Oxford, Fran Terry of Leola, Jean DeVine of Philadelphia and Ann DeVine of Plymouth Meeting; a nephew, Steve DeVine of McSherrystown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister's, Catherine and Dorothy DeVine and his brother's Edward and George DeVine and a nephew, James DeVine.
John served in the United State Army during WWII.
He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Penn State University in 1948.
John retired in 1986 from Penn State University after 17 years of service as a Senior Analytical Chemist.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family with the Reverend Larry Louder officiating.
Burial will be in Meyer Cemetery.
