Obituary of Sarah Henninger
Sarah E. Henninger, 91, of Petersburg, died, Thursday, June 9, 2011, at The Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, State College.
Born March 19, 1920, in McAlevy's Fort, she was the daughter of the late Henry C. and Sarah Ruth Guyer DeArmitt. On June 26, 1938 she married Blair W. Henninger, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1983.
She is survived by two children, Blair W. Henninger Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Milmont, Terry E. Henninger Sr. and his wife, Bonnie, of McAlevy's Fort; Five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren; four brothers; Ellis DeArmitt and his wife, Dot, of Mooresville, Walter DeArmitt and his companion, Sue, of Huntingdon, Francis DeArmitt and his wife , Dorothy, of Alexandria, Cyrus DeArmitt and his wife, Mary Jane, of Houserville and three sisters; Mary Gates, of Lemont, Therasia Henninger, of Boone, N.C., and Blanche DeArmitt, of Alexandria. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester, Stanley, Owen, and Harry DeArmitt and one sister Grace Polly Bragonier.
She was a 1938 graduate of Stone Valley High School.
Sarah was a Printing Press Operator at Nittany Printing and Penn State University Offset Service. She enjoyed hunting, camping, traveling and fishing in Canada.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 12, at the funeral home with the Rev. Brent Book officiating.
Burial will be in St. Stephens Cemetery, McAlevy's Fort.
