With Pesach coming up my memories of seders led me to look you up - and am sorry to have learned that Blos is gone. She was my mother's best friend and your entire family felt like an extension of our family back in those days. I'll never forget Blos carefully getting something ucky out of my hair as a little girl and how she called me honey bun. And the smells of roast turkey, matzo ball soup, Creamettes macaroni and cheese, cigars, ... and, of course the garden spot out by HRB. At that time I couldn't understand what the allure was about - bugs, heat, dirt under the fingernails. Blos demonstrated to me the reality of STYLE. And, STRONG COMPASSION.
When my mother was dying, Blos came to my side and just simply said that I hadn't expected her to be very sick.
I am sure you all miss her so much - what a great family - may those days of ping pong in the basement and chasing eachother around the upstairs, laying on the fur coats piled up, and racing around to find the matzo be in our memories forever.
MUCH LOVE,
Jo

Dear Abergs,
I am so sad to know of your wonderful Blossom's passing. She will always be a beautiful loving blossom in my Memory, and an inspiration of humanity, grace, beauty and loving kindness to me. I feel very fortunate to have known her and am so glad I got to see her and Gil when they were in Rome a few years back, and last November when I was visiting State College and Foxdale, because of my dad. I really treasure those brief moments I had with her.
I send heartfelt wishes to you all, and
Much Love,
Julie Triolo

Our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Blossom, from the entire Triolo family. Our families have a long history of friendship, and Blossom was a close friend of our late mother Phyllis Triolo. We all have fiond memories of dinners and socializing at the Abergs house, where Blossom always made us feel welcome. In recent years she and Gil have been welcoming again as my father Alfred joined them at Foxdale, and I have really enjoyed sharing meals with Blossom and Gil at Foxdale. We all will remember what a kind and strong person Blossom was over the years and celebrate her long and rich life.

I have such great memories of Blossom. When I was growing up in Highland Park, we spent a lot of time at Blossom's home and had great times with her children. She was a strong intelligent woman who always had a twinkle in her eye and enjoyed a good laugh. After Blossom moved from Chicago, we saw each other less frequently but when we did, she always made it a point to sit down with me to find out what was going on in my life. Even though she did not get to see my daughter very often, she always seemed to know about what she was doing and made sure that she found out more. This was not done as a formality but rather with a true sense of interest and love. She had a special connection with my father, her uncle. They would get together and talk politics and life, and recall family members long gone. She was such a strong positive person that it is hard to believe that she is gone. But the memories that I have will not be gone. Sandy and I are so sorry for your loss. We will greatly miss Blossom.

I will always remember my oldest sister Blossom with love and admiration. In so many ways, she served as a role model for me. Her love of family and of humanity as well as her clear-eyed wisdom and common sense are things I can only hope to emulate in my life. Richard also speaks of her with the greatest love and admiration, and wishes he could have known her earlier and better. Our love to Gil and to all of you. We are so sorry that it is impossible to get there for the funeral, but we know it will be a beautiful one for a truly beautiful woman.
