Diane was a childhood neighbor and dear friend. To me she was known as Dinny! Although we lost contact after Diane graduated, I hold close my memories of Dinny and the Williams family. Know you are in my prayers. Thomas R Thompson

Mrs. Oyler was one of the greatest teachers at the old Park Forest Elementary! Was so sad to hear of her passing. I was a very difficult child in elementary school in the 1970s, and she showed such patience...through all my trips to the office, disruptions in class, etc. I am now a full professor of Political Science at Penn State Berks, where I have taught for over 20 years! So as you can see, I am one of many, many cases where her caring teaching helped so much. I hope it helps the family to know that so, so many lives were shaped by her!

My deepest condolences to the Oyler family. May you find comfort in the beautiful words found at Revelarion 21:3 & 4, where God promises us that He will soon eliminate all pain, suffering and death. While we wait for this promise to be fulfilled, may the fond memories of Diane comfort you and ease your pain.

My two sons (ages 43 and 46) were fortunate in having Diane for their 6th grade teacher. She taught them to appreciate great art and literature and she taught me about my kids too. She was truly a treasure. My condolences to the family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Oyler. She started as my 6th grade teacher but became a friend over the years. I was inspired to go to Dickinson in part because it was her alma mater and was honored to have her and Mr. Oyler attend my commencement. We stayed in touch via Christmas cards until recent years. I am now a middle school educator (which would give her quite a laugh because I always swore I'd never become a teacher!) and her passing reminds me of the incredible and lasting influence that teachers may have on their students.
