Dear Pat and family, I am so sorry to hear about Dick's passing. He was truly the reason I was welcomed into the labor movement so many decades ago. He was my teacher, my mentor and my friend, and the university community and the labor community owe him a huge debt. He touched the lives of so many students and union folks with wisdom and humor. Dick will be missed and remembered with fondness and respect by so many. Doug Allen

To Pat and Family We are sending our love and thoughts to you during this difficult time. Our family has many special memories of Dick and all of the celebrating we shared over many, many years! We so enjoyed all of the Irish music and Irish Whiskey along with all of the story telling and joke playing that we shared over time. You were Dear friends to us and we will always cherish the memories of our great times together. Mary will be returning to PA in November and will be sure to connect with Pat then.
