Obituary of Teresa Kieniewicz-Badzian
Teresa Kieniewicz – Badzian, 79, of State College passed away on November 1, 2016 at the Hershey Medical Center. She was born on July 21, 1937 in Warsaw, Poland. Teresa was a daughter of the late Marta Kieniewicz and Stanislaw Kieniewicz.
On December 29, 1963 she married the love of her life Andrzej Badzian who survives at their home at the Foxdale Village in State College.
In addition to her husband, Teresa is survived by her sister Joanna Gorska, her husband Marek Gorski and two nephews Marcin and Krzysztof Gorski, all of Warsaw, Poland.
Teresa received M.Sc. degree in Chemistry from the University of Warsaw, Poland in 1960. An expert in crystal chemistry, she was employed as a Research Associate at Penn State's Materials Research Laboratory from 1985 to 2007. Her expertise and experience has greatly benefited several major research projects in the area of materials science and engineering in which she participated. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in State College. For over 20 years Teresa was involved with the Carmelite Community where she freely shared her emotions and compassion with other members of the Community. Her friends in State College and in Warsaw will always remember her for her zest for life, wisdom, smile, and kindness. Teresa will be deeply missed by all who had a privilege of knowing her.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, with Reverend Neil Dadey officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
