Obituary of Edward J. Heary

Edward J. Heary, Jr., 83, of State College, died Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Juniper Village At Brookline. Born August 6, 1933, in St. Mary's, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Stella Heary. On August 23, 1958 he married Adele Feldman, who preceded him in death in 1999. He is survived by a sister, Janet Wolfe and her husband, Richard and a brother, Frank Heary; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Gerome and Richard and sisters, Marion, Audrey and Alyce. Ed served in the United States Army and graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Forestry. He spent much of his life in the woods and also was an accomplished surveyor. He was of the catholic faith. Ed was a member of the American Legion Post 245, in State College. He will be missed by all who knew him, including neighbors, the people at the register of deeds and his partner of 17 years, Jackie Fedon and family. Visitation will be from 10 until 11:30 a.m., on Monday, November 21, 2016, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with Celebrant Jackie Hook officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
