Obituary of Marjorie E. White

Marjorie E. Gibson White, 99, of State College, died Monday, December 5, 2016 at Greenhills Village. Born October 14, 1917 in Altoona she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Laura (Curry) Rossman. She married Paul I. Gibson Sr. on January 1936, who preceded her in death on October 30, 1951. She later married Martin L. White on August 5, 1954, who also preceded her in death on May 9, 1978. Marjorie is survived by three daughters and one son, Janet Houtz and her husband Harry of Port Matilda, Helen Harpster of Stormstown, Barbara Nordblom of Richmond Virginia and Paul I. Gibson Jr. and his wife Lois of Port Matilda, and Edgar L. Gibson who preceded her in death and his surviving wife, Betty Mae Gibson of Port Matilda. Also surviving are two stepchildren, Barry and Stephen White. Marjorie is also survived by 15 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was the last of 13 children. Marjorie attended Roosevelt High School in Altoona. She was employed at Penn State University in the Printing Services Department, a member of the Gray's United Methodist Church, and she loved to play Penny Ante Poker, and Bingo. A Funeral Service will be held at the convenience of the family with the Reverend Dr. Renee Ford officiating. Interment to follow in Gray's Cemetery in Stormstown.
