Obituary of G. Marion Smith

G. Marion Smith, 95, of Bloomsburg, formerly of Boalsburg, died Sunday, December 25, 2016, at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, Bloomsburg. Born August 26, 1921, in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late James Q. and Grace Holt Underwood. On May 24, 1952, Marion married Cyril B. Smith, who preceded her in death on March 24, 2007. She is survived by one brother, M. Dean Underwood, and his wife, Jean, of NC; sister-in-law, Jean Underwood of Bloomsburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Marion was predeceased in death by three brothers, James Q. Underwood, Kenton H. Underwood, and M. Ernest Underwood. Marion graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1939. She was a secretary for Penn State University for many years. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College with Rev. Renee Ford officiating.
