Chris was a gem. He was an extremely talented artist, and a caring, thoughtful, encouraging, generous, always interesting mentor and friend. I remember when I moved to New York, all wide eyed, I told him I was interested in how people were so different from each other. Chris replied that he was interested in how we were all the same. That conversation stayed with me all these years. I think his take on things is the overridingly important one and what the world needs. Thank you, Chris, for that conversation and wisdom, and many other such moments. You touched my life deeply.
