Obituary of David Ishler

David William Ishler 48 of State College Died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at his residence. Born December 10, 1962 in Bellefonte he was the son of David A. and Diane J. Gephart Ishler of Boalsburg. He is survived by one brother John W. Ishler of Canton, a niece Tiffany Ishler and 3 nephews Stephen Ishler, Tim Ishler and Kris Ishler, and a great nephew Dakotah Walburn. Also surviving are numerous aunt and uncles. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Samuel and Mary Ishler and his maternal grandparents James Gephart and Mamie Gephart Tierney and Step maternal grandfather Leonard Tierney. David served in the U.S. Navy from 1981 until 1984 and was a graduate of State College High School class of 1981. He was a cook by profession and had worked at many of the area restaurants, at The Scanicon , The Penn Stater and most recently at Wegmans. He was a member of Sons of the American Legion #245 and The Veterans Club of State College, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and canning. Friends will be received at St. John United Church of Christ in Boalsburg on Tuesday, July 12, 2001 from 2 until 3. A Memorial Service will follow in the church at 3 P.M. with Pastor Monica Ouellette officiating. Burial will follow in the Boalsburg Cemetery.
