Obituary of Sally J. Larson

Sally J. Larson, 82, of State College, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Centre Crest, Bellefonte. Born July 5, 1934, in Dubois, she was the daughter of the late Leland L. and Irene Sidney Wiles Harnick. On August 19, 1961, she married Allen W. "Pepsi" Larson, who precede her in death on June 18, 2003. She is survived by three children, Ricky Larson and his wife, Cheryl, of Lebanon, Scott Larson of Milesburg and Renee Poorman of State College; two grandchildren, Jessica Poorman Griffin and her husband, Clancy, of Port Matilda and Steven Poorman and his wife, Jessica Howard, of State College; four great-grandchildren, Cody and Jordyn Griffin of Port Matilda and Jocelyn and Hayden Poorman of State College. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Harmick of DuBois and her son in-law, Robert Poorman of State College. Sally was a 1952 graduate of Sandy High School in Dubois. She had been employed at Locus Inc. in Boalsburg as a Receptionist and was a Clerk at Walmart, State College. Sally was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was involved with the Fresh Air Program and active with the Centre County Democratic Party. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Monday, March 6, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Reverend P. Stevens Lynn officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
