Obituary of Scott William Sipple
Scott William Sipple, age 49, of State College, PA, passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2017. Scott was born in Bellefonte, PA on May 19, 1967. He was the son of William and Joyce (Gilbert) Sipple of State College, PA.
After graduating from State College Area High School in 1985, he pursued his post-secondary education at the University of Tennessee at Martin. As an avid marksman, he competed on their intercollegiate rifle team. He finished his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering at Penn State University in 1991.
He went right to work at Fabral, a metal fabrication company in Lancaster, PA. After a year of working as an Applications Engineer, he moved to Nashville, TN, to serve as a Manager at Southeastern Metals. The company promoted him to be an Engineering Manager at their plant in Jacksonville, FL. In 1994, Scott returned to Lancaster, PA, working for Fabral again now as a Product Manager/Engineer and Residential Metal Roofing Sales Manager. His transition into sales led him to be the Director of Marketing at Conestoga Building/C B Structures, Inc. He returned to State College in 2007 as a Sales Representative for Vincent A. Pistelli & Associates, Inc. where he has dedicated his passion and enthusiasm for hunting and the outdoors into his work.
A lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association, he enjoyed attending sporting events, especially following Women’s Volleyball and Wrestling. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and supported his high school alma mater’s athletic teams on which his friends’ children participated. His lifetime memberships also include the NRA and the Ruffed Grouse Society for which he was the banquet chairman of the local Red Brush regional chapter’s yearly fundraising event. On the weekends as a keen sportsman, one could often find him at a range in a competitive shoot or in the field training his bird dogs.
Scott is survived by his parents, Joyce and Bill, his extended family, his many friends who became like family, his wonderful Godchildren, his buddy Straub, and his colleagues who enjoyed similar interests. All will remember him fondly. Loved by many, his loyalty and easy-going spirit, kind smile, teasing wit, and generous nature will be dearly missed.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday evening, April 10 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Koch Funeral Home: 2401 South Atherton Street. A service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church downtown State College: 205 South Garner Street on Tuesday, April 11 at 11 a.m.
In honor to the memory of his life, the family requests contributions to be made to the Red Brush Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society (226 Mountain Road State College, PA 16801) or to a charity of one’s personal selection.
