Obituary of Kenneth Milton Jury

Kenneth Milton Jury, 93, of State College, formerly of Cochranville, died Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

Born November 8, 1923, in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Mark Earl and Nora Buffenmyer Jury. On June 13, 1959 he married Shirley Barlow, who survives. They lived in Cochranville for over fifty years prior to moving to State College in 2012.

Also surviving are two children, Stephen M. Jury of Boalsburg and Beth Ellen Jury of State College. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Wheeler.

Kenneth was a 1942 graduate of Manheim Township High School. He also attended Lancaster Bible College.

He served as a Seabee 3CL Baker in the United States Navy 1943-1946

Kenneth retired in 1999 after 43 years in the bakery warehouse at Pepperidge Farm in Denver, PA.

He was a member of West Grove Presbyterian Church where he was on the board of Elders, served as a Deacon and was a Sunday School superintendent and Teacher.

He was also very active with Youth for Christ in Southeastern PA where he served as song leader and it was through YFC that he met his future wife.

Kenneth loved to work in his yard and garden, beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables were the rewards of his tireless efforts.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at West Grove Presbyterian Church, 139 West Evergreen Street, West Grove, with the Reverend Charlie Gross officiating

Visitation time will be between the hours of 9:30 and 11:00

There will be a luncheon afterwards.
