Obituary of Lee Ellen Lichter Grenninger

Lee Ellen Lichter Grenninger, 80, of Majestic View Road, State College, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Wynwood House in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania.

She was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, September 3, 1936; the daughter of the late Martin Lichter and Marian Criswell. On September 10, 1955, she married Frederick Allan Grenninger, Sr. in the Flemington Church of Christ.

Lee graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1955. For 22 years, she traveled the country with her family while her husband served in the United States Navy. Upon her husband's retirement from the Navy, she returned to Pennsylvania, where she worked as an Executive Secretary at C-Cor Electronics. She retired in 1999. She enjoyed reading and cooking and was a dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church in State College. Her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Frederick Allan Grenninger, Sr. of State College; her children, daughter Pamela L. Erb and spouse Wes Hall, of Savannah, GA, and son Frederick Allan Grenninger, Jr. and his wife Aimee, of Huntingdon, PA; two grandchildren, granddaughter Jennifer S. Jones and her husband Derek and granddaughter Serena R. Hall; great-granddaughter, Beyla R. Jones; and brother, Charles M. Lichter and spouse Mary Ann. In addition to her parents, Lee was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad A. Erb.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 10, 2017, from 11-1 pm at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, PA 16801. The funeral will follow the visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 pm.

Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
