Today, I went to the Book Sale hosted by AAUW at Penn State and bought a few art books. The cashiers noted the books and made a comment about this great Art History professor who passed away not long ago. I asked who he was, and my heart dropped when they say Doctor Curran.
Many years ago, Dr. Brian Curran inspired me to pursue a degree in Art History. His passion, knowledge, and charisma made him my favorite professor in my long Penn State career. After talking to him one day about how I just loved to learn history though the arts, he recommended a couple of books which were the cornerstone for a private art history library I started to amass. This little library, almost 900 books strong today, are, in a way, a celebration to that great man, that with his teachings and methodology, touched the lives of so many people.
Thank you, Dr. Curran. May your Soul Rest in Peace.
