I wish to send my heartfelt condolences to Rev. Chuck Fitzgerald. I knew him 2 summers at the Silver Bay Association. I worked in the housekeeping department, and he worked in the Store. He was such a special man. Blessings on his family. May God wrap His loving arms around all of you. Rev. Chuck will be sorely missed.

Our journey with Pastor Chuck began in the 1985/86 time frame when we were building our home in St. Thomas, PA. Chuck loved to walk and on one of those walks past our building lot, he came by to introduce himself and invite us into his church family. The rest is history as our friendship only grew deeper through the years. He baptized Jody, Tyler, Amanda, stood by us thru the death of loved ones to cancer, shared some golf, groomed as to the importance to grow in our faith walk, and just was always there no matter how much distance or time was between us. His messages always left you wanting to return so we could learn more and continue to feed our spirits. We loved his attention to the details as that was very important to him and it always shined thru when you entered his church homes. We will sincerely miss his infectious smile, open arms, awesome sermons, beautiful pictures, texts, and loving friendship. Our sincere consolences to Jill, Kristen, Emily and families as Pastor Chuck shepherd over many of us through his years. Thank you for sharing him with all of us. We are forever grateful that God connected our family to him thru one of his nature walks along Diehls Woods Road. RIP, Pastor Chuck, as you fought the fight and finished the race well you good, faithful servant.

Dear Fitzgerald Family:
We knew and deeply respected the Howard Fitzgeralds and are so saddened to note that Charles went through this cancer thing, unbeknown to us and so many of his co-pastors; and that he will no longer share in the fellowship of Christian pastors. Though our names may not be among your most familiar people, we simply want you to know that we knew Charles and care that you, his most loved family, must mourn his loss. May our Lord and Saviour continue to embrace you throughout this time and for the times ahead.
Our love an prayers,
Carl & Nancy Buterbaugh

We were extremely sorry to learn of Pastor Fitzgerald's passing. He was an excellent pastor, a wonderful person, and a special friend to our family. We will always cherish the great times we had on the basketball and tennis courts, and especially his continual interest in our son, Christian, at an important time in his life. Pastor Fitzgerald was an inspirational minister and always put others first. We were inspired, as much by his example, as we were by his thoughtful messages. Our world is a better place due to Chuck's life and mission, which his family took so conscientiously and with enduring dedication.

I was very saddened to read of the passing of Pastor Fitzgerald. In the late 1990s, he conducted a remembrance service at the former Brookline Nursing Home for those who had passed during the preceding months. My friend Shirley Hodges was one of those and because her family had chosen not to have a funeral for her, Pastor Fitzgerald's words provided a needed ministry to help with grieving and celebration of a well-loved life. After meeting him, I later visited his Tyrone Church because I did Christian clowning at the time and I shared that ministry with his congregation. He was a warm and sensitive man and minister whose life graced those who knew him. I join in both grieving his passing and celebrating the life and love he lived. My condolences to his family and friends on their loss.

What can I say, Pastor was loved! He always had a smile for everyone. He will be truly missed as he touched the lives of many. He always knew the right thing to say and oh how I wish I could write the words to reflect how Pastor impacted my life. God's strength helps us to accept things that are difficult and we don't understand why, but he does give us peace of mind. Jill and Emily, my prayers for you and your wonderful memories and love.

It is with a heavy heart we extend our condolences to Jill, Kristen and Emily. We met Pastor Fitzgerald, but I always called him Chuck, on a softball field of all places so many years ago. I always teased hm for calling my daughter out on a pitch that was over her head all those years ago. That was always in fun. We have known him for over 30 years and it was always a joy to speak with him. Chuck was always a people person. He always was willing to lend an ear when you were down and celebrate your accomplishments. We have been praying for a miracle but that wasn't available this time. We will always remember and cherish the time we knew him. He was a true friend and we will miss him terribly. I am so sorry such a fine man was taken from us. But God has called him home. May God bless his soul and Jill, Kristen and Emily and all whoever Pastor Fitzgerald touched in his life.
