Obituary of Beulah Jane Brunner
Beulah Jane Hosband Brunner, 86, of State College, PA, went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 24, 2017. She passed unexpectedly at home.
She is survived by her ever-loving husband of 66 years, Harry Reese Brunner Jr. They were married on July 3, 1951 in Winchester, VA.
Beulah was born July 13, 1931 in Tyrone, to the late Earl Clark Hosband and Mable Catherine Robison. She has a surviving sister, Dorothy Fink of Tyrone and was preceded in death by seven siblings.
Also surviving are her five children, Peggy Smith and her husband Wade of Sterling, VA, Patti Woods and her husband Richard of Bellefonte, Brad Brunner and his wife Ann of Howard, Pam Ebert and her husband Michael of Charles Town, WV, and Penny Bispo and her husband William of Boalsburg. Also, ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Port Matilda High School. At a very young age, Beulah and two of her sisters were known as the gospel singing group "The Hosband Trio". A self-taught pianist and vocalist, she also played on a women's softball team for many years. She was an avid fan of Penn State Football and the Pittsburg Pirates, and sports in general. For many years, she worked side by side with her husband, making Rubber Stamps & was well known and loved by community businesses. Beulah would tell anyone, her greatest accomplishment and love was her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her home style cooking for family and friends. In recent years, she enjoyed attending The Centre Region Active Adult Center with her husband.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the funeral home, with the Reverend Chester Marshall officiating.
Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park
