Obituary of John H. Bell
John H. Bell, 75, of Port Matilda, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born November 26, 1941, in Clearfield, John was the son of the late Jack and Marilyn Hoyt Bell. On August 16, 1990, in Ocean City, MD, he married the former Sheron Finney Sefchick.
John is survived by his three children, John, Pamela and Karen; two step-sons, Cory Sefchick, and his wife, Lynnette, of Port Matilda, and Aaron Sefchick, and his wife, Kiersten, of Boyce, VA; three siblings, Jerry Bell, and his wife, Betti, of Vero Beach, FL, Vicki Kurtz, and her husband, Robert, of Chalfont and Bambi Landrum, of Penfield; five grandchildren, Maranda Hallstrom, Scotlynn Sefchick, Nial Sefchick, Aurora Sefchick, and Kamden Sefchick. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy (Rauch) Bell.
John graduated from Clearfield High School class of 1959. He attended Ohio State University and received a business degree from Robert Morris College. He started work for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in the Midwest, a job he recalled fondly. He returned to Clearfield and became the president of Jack Bell Construction, and an estimator for Glenn O Hawbaker.
John was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and a former member of Knights of Columbus, Clearfield Elks Lodge, Altoona Masonic Lodge and the Jaffa Shrine.
He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and attending Spikes Baseball games.
Friends will be received from 5 until 7 pm. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College with Father Neil Dadey officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Clearfield
