I just heard of Charlie’s death and wanted to express my condolences. Charlie was a tennis partner of mine for many years and I was a customer of his buying many pairs of tennis shoes from him. I got to know Nate and even to chat with Jesse while he was playing in a tournament in Newport. I shared pride in a grandson’s tennis prowess ( not comparable— my 14 year old grandson was named outstanding high school player in Berkshire County as a freshman. I have fond memories of Charlie and his family and know that he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Dear Silvia;
We just saw the notice of Charlie's passing in the current issue of the Penn Stater magazine and wanted to express our heartfelt sadness and deepest condolences to you and your family. In case you don't remember us, you & Charlie attended our wedding in June of 1957 in State College and presented us with a lovely gift.
Simply put, Charlie was great guy...a wonderful & generous man in every sense. When Delta Sigma Phi suffered a disastrous fire in Dec. 1955 all of its members lost their clothing due to smoke damage. Charlie immediately came to our rescue and offered everything in the store at very deep discounts and patiently waited for payment as meager insurance settlements came through or other means were found. Needless to say the men of the "Pink Elephant" were the best dressed on campus for some time afterwards.
Our employments took us away from SC after graduation but whenever we were able to return we always tried to stop by your store to see Charlie. He remembered us every time and was so gracious in his comments.
It is so sad to realize an old and good friend has passed away but we are gratified to know you and Charlie had many happy years together and he is survived by a very loving family.
Bill and Shonnie Kiser

"Your dead will live. My corpses will rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, You residents in the dust! For your dew is as the dew of the morning. And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life. (Isaiah 26:19) This prophecy tells us that one day we will see our dead loved ones again in a new world! Please seek Jehovah God to see his promises fulfilled...

My Condolences To The Levine Family on the passing of Charley. I met Charley in late 1966 when I returned home from Vietnam after being discharged from the Marine Corps. I was looking for some work & trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Charley took a chance on me & hired me. Those 2 or 3 years I worked for & with Him left me with many fond memories. He was a good guy & I learned a lot from him! I could even measure tuxedo’s to keep up with the sales. I have Fond Memories Of Charley Levine. Rest In Peace My Friend.

My family remembers Charlie and his wonderful shop on Allen Street with great fondness. Charlie used to keep up a friendly banter with my mother Anna while she and Charlie selected beautiful clothes for my father Tom who delivered mail at the shop on Wednesdays. My brother Fred and I often joined our mother on these shopping trips. Charlie was a always well dressed and had a smile and laugh with everyone. He obviously cared a lot about his customers and his business. When the shop closed many years ago as I recall, we lamented the loss to the downtown area and missed the chance to see Charlie. In fact when I return to my hometown and walk on Allen Street I often think of him and the laughs we shared in his shop.
I take comfort that Charlie lived a happy, fulfilling life before and after his retirement. My family sends its deepest sympathy to your family in the loss of Charlie. May he rest in peace.

I'm so sad to hear of Charlie's passing. I will miss seeing his incredibly happy and encouraging face at Penn State Tennis Center-- he always wore a smile and a word of advice for my backhand. Sending my love to the Levine family.

Dear Sylvia, Michael, Nathan and Family,
Barb and I offer you deepest sympathy today upon hearing of Charlie’s passing. He made State College better and was a dear friend to all of the Pavlechkos. He was a gracious and humble man who stood tall and strong because of his sincerity and care for every person whom he encountered. We will always remember him. Because of a previous medical appointment, we are in Baltimore Wednesday and will not be able to attend temple service but will be honoring him in our thoughts. Ron and Barb

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. and Mrs. Levine when I was Nate's roommate in college. They welcomed me with open arms and always made me feel at home. As Nate's roommate and friend I always admired the close bond between Nate and his dad. I had not seen Mr. and Mrs. Levine for more than 30 years but recently had the pleasure of sharing a dinner with them along with Nate and Brenda, and we had absolutely the best evening of talking and reminiscing, and laughed until we couldn't laugh anymore. What a wonderful memory!
We send our deepest sympathy to Nate and Brenda and the entire Levine family.

Charlie was always a good friend. He supported me as Penn State student and wrestler. When I was a teacher and coach he was always there in a supported way for me - bought all my clothes at Levine’s, always owed him money!!! One time Charlie and my wife talked me into a crazy sports coat and dark blue psnts but it was not me, it hung in my closet for years. Last time I I saw Charlie and his wife was at the hospital waiting room - they both looked great and we were all glad to see each other.

I was so sad to hear about Charlie's passing. He was such a friendly guy, wonderful neighbor, excellent salesman, and super tennis player. Charlie and Sylvia were part of our E. McCormick Avenue "family" I knew growing up in State College.
Charlie's shop on Allen Street was fashionable in the collegiate style, as it should be in a college town. And a stop into the store became a social event, as Charlie was always ready for some good conversation and fun.
We keep Charlie and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

Sylvia, Mike and Nathan, So sorry to hear about Charlie. I have many happy and cherished memories of playing football in your backyard. I much enjoyed sitting with Charlie and Sylvia in their living room just this year and exchanging stories about the old neighborhood. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. Please pass on my condolences to Eddie. Over the years as I drove by on McCormick and saw your Dad outside, he often told me how proud he was of all of you. Take care.
