Obituary of Lawrence D. Muller
Lawrence D. Muller, 76, a resident of Lemont, died Monday, January 1, 2018 at Juniper Village. He was born November 26, 1941 in Peoria, IL and was the son of the late Ralph and Corinne Erford Muller. On August 8, 1965, he married the former Delores Lewin, who survives. Larry is survived by his son, Mark L. Muller of Orlando, FL and his daughter Marcia M. Frost and her husband, Jeff, of Portland, OR. He was preceded in death by daughter, Michelle Muller. Also surviving are his brother, Richard Muller of Washington, Ill and 3 grandchildren; Cayden and twins, Asher and Owen Frost.
Larry was a graduate of Washington Community High School class of 1951. He earned his BS and MA degrees in Dairy Science from the University of Illinois and his PhD in Animal Science from Purdue University in 1969. Larry was a Professor at Penn State University and upon his retirement, a Professor Emeritus in the Dairy and Animal Science Department.
Larry was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He loved his family; everything Penn State, especially his students; and was a life-long fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 250 East College Ave., State College, PA 16801 on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11 am with Pastor Becky McGee officiating. Immediately following the memorial service there will be a gathering and a luncheon in the church social hall. A celebration of life will be held in March of 2018 and will be announced when plans are complete.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence D. Muller Scholarship Fund in Dairy Sciences, College of Agriculture Science, 235 Ag. Administration, University Park, PA 16802.
