I would like to express my deepest sympathy for the loss you have suffered! Please know that God is a God of all comfort and he will be there for you during this time! (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) Psalms 34:18 tells us that God is close to the broken-hearted and he saves those crushed in spirit. Yes, God truly cares for you! Go to him in prayer and he will provide you with "the peace of God that surpasses all understanding " - Philippians 4:6,7. Jesus said "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." -John 11:25. Yes, God truly cares about us and Jesus tells us we will see our loved ones again! I hope this brings you a measure of comfort as you endure this most difficult time.

Dear Mrs.Tarman, Jim and Jeff,
My deepest sympathies to all of you at this time. I worked for Jim, Jr. at Miller Kistler & Campbell almost 30 years ago. Mr. Tarman was always so kind to me when he would call in to the office to speak to Jim. I will always remember his kind words to me when my own mother passed away during the time I worked for Jim. Cherish your memories and take care of each other. Jim, I hope all is well with you and yours. I have thought of you many times over the years and have spoken of you frequently to my husband and family. Would love to hear from you and just catch up for a moment. My email is ginger.leupold@beasd.net. My wishes to all of year for comfort and peace in the days ahead.

I arrived at Penn State from Belle Vernon (south of Pittsburgh) in August 1961 on a Greyhound bus, a poor, skinny and apprehensive 17-year-old excited to enroll and become "student assistant" to Jim Tarman -- his first -- for the next four years. Jim served in loco parentis as my mentor, teacher and trusted friend. It's hard to imagine where I would have ended up in life without him in it. -Joe Grata (retired), Pittsburgh Press-Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
