Obituary of Thomas J. Seeman
Thomas J. Seeman, 64, of Boalsburg, formerly of West Chester, died Thursday, January 18, 2018, at home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born December 14, 1953, in McKeesport, Tom was the son of the late William J. and Bertha Miller Seeman. On August 21, 1976 in Ridley Park, PA, he married Elena Pompo.
In addition to his wife, Elena, Tom is survived by two children, Amy Busse and her husband, Brian, of Macungie, and Lisa Seeman and her fiancé, Nick Thiel, of West Chester; two grandsons, Evan and Adam Busse of Macungie; brother, William E. Seeman and wife, Eileen, of Pittsburgh; sister, Mary Lou Ferguson and husband, William, of Raleigh, NC; sister-in-law, Diane Kenny and husband, Michael of Broomall; brother-in-law, Vincent Pompo and husband, Bob Yungman, of West Chester; and many nieces and nephews.
Tom received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University in Civil Engineering in 1975 and his MBA from Purdue University in 1979.
As a civil engineer, he was project manager for large, worldwide projects.
Tom was an avid golfer; his greatest achievement was his hole-in-one. Tom was a member of Burning Tee Golf League at the Penn State Golf Courses. He was a volunteer for Longwood Gardens, Chester County Library, and Schlow Library. He also enjoyed traveling.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, with Rev. Neil Dadey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at church, from 10:30a.m. until 11:30a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Thomas J. Seeman.
