Dear Dr. Tischler,
I was sorry to hear that your husband passed away, but also that he had been ill so very long. It is always hard when those we love are no longer with us in person, even though we know they have entered a much greater life. Death is only the end of a personality, not the opposite of life, but of birth. Life and Love are everlasting and that knowledge is a great comfort.
May you and your family be comforted in sympathy and caring.

I am so sorry for your loss. Though up in years, it is still hard to accept that death has overtaken a loved one. “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be NO MORE . Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”(Revelation 21:4) Soon God will eliminate death and allow faithful humans to enjoy everlasting life. “There IS going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Acts 24:15) Imagine Charles’ expression when he “wakes up” to a beautiful New World of God’s making.

So very sorry to hear of Merle's passing. Both Nancy and Merle were incredible examples of hospitality, kindness, and care for Steph, Andersson and I during our time in State College. He will be greatly missed and we are thankful for our shared assurance in Christ.

I was sorry to read about Merle's death. I had been thinking about Merle and Nancy just this past week. I babysat Eric for Merle and Nancy back in the late 1960s / early 1970s. They were the kindest people, Merle always smiling, Nancy always trying to get me to go back to college. What a full and wonderful life Merle had. My condolences to the family.
