I knew Richard since he was 3 years old. He loved to bicycle ride in the State College vicinity. When he was 17, we got stuck in Bear Meadows, Centre County, PA. on the coldest night of the year. What an adventure! Richard always thought kindly of his father, my former colleague in architecture. He visited me in Menlo Park, California, and I took him to meet his half-brother in Marin County ,California. Upon returning to California, I lost touch with Richard. However, I thought of him many times. Life is really too short not to continue friendships. How unfortunate!
