Obituary of Nancy Ann Babcock
Nancy Ann Babcock, 63, of State College, died Friday, February 9, 2018 at her residence of natural causes.
Born July 23, 1954 in Greenville, PA, she was the daughter of William E. Babcock of State College and the late Dorothy Floyd Babcock. In addition to her father, she is survived by two sisters, Carol Cosimano (Tom) of Falls Church, VA and Dottie Lloyd (Paul) of Tempe, AZ; nieces and nephews, Valerie Taylor (Robert) and their daughter, Grace, Thomas "Jeffery" Cosimano, Matthew Lloyd, and Samantha Lloyd; cousins Ann (Scott) Mathieson, Janet (Chris) Michaelsen, Paul (Martha) Wackenhut, and Norman (Socorro) Wackenhut. Also surviving is her faithful dog, Tillie.
Nancy was a 1972 graduate of State College Area High School. She attended Penn State University and Centre County Business School. She had been employed by HRB Singer, now Raytheon, from 1980 to 2012. Following her retirement, Nancy started her own social media strategist company, Creative Arts Consulting, LLC. She was also a member and certified mentor with SCORE of Central Pennsylvania which helped educate and support local small businesses.
She started "The Walk for Dot" fundraiser and raised thousands of dollars for the Alzheimer's Association of Central Pennsylvania in honor of her mother, Dorothy Babcock. She was also a member of the local Girls Night Out (GNO). She treasured the many friendships she developed as a member of these groups and organizations.
Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the funeral home with Celebrant Jackie Hook and the Reverend Greg Milinovich officiating.
Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
