Obituary of Marlin Jesse Dunlap

Marlin Jesse Dunlap, 83, of State College, died Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Hearthside Nursing Home. Born October 12, 1934, in Milesburg, he was the son of the late Melvin N. and Louise Stanley Dunlap. On December 16, 1958 he married Helene Marie Tardrvel. Marlin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helene Marie Dunlap of State College; son Samuel Edward Dunlap of Pampa Texas; sisters Margie, Barbara; brother Sam. Marlin graduated from Bellefonte High School. In 1952, he began his military career with the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Air Force in 1975 as an aircraft engineer. While stationed in Hawaii, Marlin joined the Masonic Fraternity and was a 32nd Degree in the Scottish Rite Masonry. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, and car collecting. A memorial service will be held at 11am, on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, PA with Rev. Becky McGee officiating. A celebration of life luncheon will follow. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
