Obituary of Barbara Blaine Kinne
Barbara Blaine Kinne passed away in her home surrounded by her family, on Sunday, February 18, 2018. Born in Waterloo, NY, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Helen V. Kinne of Kilmarnock, VA. She is survived by her husband, Scott A. Harrison of Warriors Mark; sister Jan K. Barbara was raised in Leesburg, VA, and attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA. She lived in the Centre Region for more than 40 years after moving there to earn an M.S. degree from Penn State. Barbara was active in the community and had a wide circle of local friends that she called family. She supported and actively volunteered service to the Women's Resource Center and the Nittany Valley Symphony, and contributed to many local nonprofit organizations. She was a collector of maps, an amateur artist, and an avid fan of classical music. Most of all, Barbara loved the outdoors and enjoyed backpacking, cross-country skiing, canoeing, and kayaking with her husband and friends. Professionally, she worked for a number of local businesses until returning to Penn State, where she ended her career as a researcher and project manager.
A private memorial service for Barbara will be planned for a later date. Memorial contributions in Barbara's honor can be made to the Centre County Women's Resource Center, 140 W. Nittany Ave., State College, PA 16801.
