Obituary of Jadwiga Glon

Jadwiga Glon, 86 passed away peacefully on March 5th at 4:50am in State College, Pennsylvania. She took her last breath surrounded by her family, whom she devoted her life to. Born April 19, 1931, in Zadworze, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Antoni and Stefania Zaczkiewicz Trojanowski. "Jadzia" grew up in war ridden Poland before moving to the United States in the late 1980s. In Poland, she married Henryk Glon at the age of 21 and together they had 3 children. Henryk and Jadzia later divorced, leaving Jadzia as a single mother. Early life was difficult under the communist regime, and Jadzia struggled to raise her kids alone. Through hard work and constant sacrifice she was able to persevere and raise her family. She taught her children to be strong, loving, and passionate. With her support, her oldest son was able to take his passion and pursue his dreams of moving to America. Over time, Jadzia followed her son and moved to America to help raise her grandchildren and strive for a better life. She continued to sacrifice for her family by traveling back and forth between Pennsylvania and Poland for the next decade to remain close to all of her grandchildren. As her health deteriorated, Jadzia made America her permanent home. She ended up beating cancer, and refused to let life hold her down. Even in her late years, she insisted on contributing around the house and in the church. "Babcia", as her grandkids affectionately called her, was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. Her legacy of love will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Everyone she came in contact with was able to see her genuine love and care for others. She was very strong in her faith, always praying for the well being of her loved ones with her favorite rosary chain. She was proud of her heritage, and instilled a strong sense of culture within her family. Even as she progressed through the final stages of her life, her primary concern was for happiness and peace of others. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of the people she impacted, and her love will continue to ripple through future generations. She is survived by three children, Weslaw R. Glon and his wife, Renata E., of State College, Barbara MacDonald of State College and Malgorzata P. Gorska and her husband, Janusz, of Bydgoszcz, Poland; a brother, Julian Trojanowski and his wife, Gizela, and a sister, Boleslawa Rydygier, all of Poalnd; five grandchildren, Mike Borys and his wife Celeste, Virginia Johntson and her husband Adam, Nicole Glon, Pawel and Jakub Gorski; three great-grandchildren, Sofia and Vivienne Johnston, Hugo Gorski; two step great-grandchildren, Dawson and Lily Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Marcin Gorski. Jadwiga was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Our Lady of victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, with the Reverend Antony Sudherson officiating. Burial will be in Nowofarny Cemetery, Bydgoszcz, Poland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, PA 16801.
