What a man, what a life, what a family, what a valued friend! I just learned of Walter's passing, as I read remembrances to him in the Soccer Journal! I knew him as an American soccer hero, but more importantly, I knew him as a first class human being willing to share himself with all who were fortunate enough to know him. Know that I often think about him and the Hall of Famers for whom I was blessed to know and serve. To his family and friends, please accept my tardy condolences.

I remember Walter Bahr when he was a soccer coach at Frankford High school back in the 1950's when I was there. He was always respected by everyone.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of s great man and a soccer legend!
My father was also a soccer coach. He had the pleasure of coaching Casey, one of Coach Bahr's sons.
Coach Bahr and his family were great friends of my parents and they spent many times together both at soccer conventions and at their homes.
He will be missed!

Walt was my freshman soccer coach at Swarthmore College in the '50's, fresh from the World Cup victory. Used to see his boys kicking the soccer ball around at practice. A fine gentleman as well as one of the best players our country has ever produced. May he Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory.

My heartfelt condolences to Walt's wife, children, grandchildren and so many other persons, including those he coached and those who were fortunate to enjoy a casual conversation with him or benefitted from his kindness in allowing the State College Soccer Club (now Centre Soccer Association) to play an occasional match on Little Jeffrey. . May his soul rest in peace.

We were saddened to read about the passing of Walter. We all have lost a great teacher, player, and coach of soccer. He also was a very friendly man, and we have lost a good next door neighbor.
We send our sincere sympathy to Davies, and the entire Bahr family.
