Obituary of Carole Mae Wills
Carole M. Wills, 79, of State College, died Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Juniper Village At Brookline.
Born December 23, 1938, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Douglas and Edna Thomas Rute. On April 27, 1958 in Sunbury, she married George Michael Wills who preceded her in death on October 17, 2007. They were married for 50 years.
She is survived by three sons, Scott M. Wills and his wife, Tae, of Gainesville, VA, Terry D. Wills and his wife, Marguerite, of New Castle, and Randy L. Wills and his wife, Judy, of State College, and seven grandchildren, Jason and Diana Wills, Kayce and Braiden Wills, and Mitchell, Jackson, and Nicholas Wills. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Rute, and grandson, Michael Wills.
Carole graduated from Sunbury High School in 1956 and Nursing School in Bellefonte in 1964. She worked as a nurse for over thirty years at Nittany Valley Medical Center and Geisinger Clinic.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Pine Grove Mills. She served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible school teacher, and was a member of many committees. She also volunteered for the Red Cross.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 am, Thursday, July 5, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 277 West Pine Grove Road, Pine Grove Mills.
Memorial service will be 11 am, Thursday, July 5, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Pastor Paul Tomkiel officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hunger Fund of St. Paul Lutheran Church, or State College Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1235, State College, PA 16804.
