Obituary of Oscar Lee DeArmit

Oscar Lee DeArmit, 77, of State College, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Juniper Village at Brookline.

Born April 1, 1941, in Gatesburg, he was the son of the late Harold Lee and Violet (Johnston) DeArmit. He married Moira (Bond) DeArmit, who survives.

Also surviving is a daughter, LeeAnn (DeArmit) Sanner and her husband, Sean Sanner, of Warriors Mark and a granddaughter, Ashlynn Sanner.

He was a 1959 graduate of State College Area High School. He served in the United States Army from 1960 until 1962.

In 1964 Oscar started Oscar DeArmit Well Drilling and Pump Co., Inc.

He was a member of Gatesburg Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Centre Hills Country Club, Masons, Jaffa Shrine and Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Oscar was a life member of the American Legion and the Elks.

Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m., on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College.

A memorial service will be private at the convenience of the family.

Private burial will be in Gatesburg Cemetery.
