Mary was one of the most compassionate and kindest people I have ever known. I worked with Mary in the 70’s at Alvo Electronics. I was a 29 year old single father struggling to make ends meet. Mary recognized I was capable of greater things than selling wire and batteries and TV tubes. She encouraged me to better things and helped me get a job at HRB Singer, which turned into a springboard for me to a successful career in sales and marketing. Thank you, Mary! I remember Mary observing me working on paperwork at my desk and bouncing my leg as I did when I concentrated on my work. She would often say “There he goes, he’s running the lights.” I had to chuckle at that and many times in the future repeated the phrase to other ‘leg bouncers’ when I observed them hard at work. I was sort of “paying it forward.” My sincere condolences to all Mary’s family and friends. Rest in Peace, Mary.
