Obituary of Ruth Linton

Ruth Linton, 90, formerly of Sacramento, Calif., died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born June 16, 1921, in El Paso, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Jeffrey Quinn McClellan and Ruth Hendricks McClellan. In 1938 she married Don Thomas Linton Jr., who died in 1995. She is survived by a daughter Nancy L. Eaton, of State College, a grandson Todd Jeffrey Filice and a great-grandson, William Filice, both of Sacramento. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Don T. Linton III. Ruth grew up in Texas and New Mexico and attended New Mexico State University. She and her husband worked the family cotton farm in Las Cruces, N.M. until 1953 when they moved to Sacramento. She worked for the Sacramento Public Library for 25 years. She moved to State College in 2001 to live near her daughter, Nancy. A service and burial will be held in Sacramento at East Lawn Memorial Park on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:00 A.M.
